$1 Million Cash Prize to Solve DoD Puzzle

A new 3D printing challenge is giving metal additive manufacturing experts the chance to win a $1 million contract to develop a large-format ultra-high-strength steel alloy process for the Department of Defense.

Despite rapid advances in metal 3D-printing techniques, current technologies still suffer limitations in material properties, build envelope, surface finish and more.
