Promoting Skilled Trades Training and Opportunities

In the United States and in Michigan, the middle class is open to anyone who works hard. The middle class was built in this country by the city of Detroit, where men and women worked in industry without a degree from a university. These men and women were able to buy homes and cars and provide college funds for their own children. This was, and still is, the American Dream and it was all accomplished without a college degree.

In case you missed it, Automation Alley Executive Director and CEO Tom Kelly had some very interesting and thought-provoking conversations about the future of technology and manufacturing on Automation Alley's podcast, Factory Reboot, this year. The podcast, which is focused on technology’s role in manufacturing and the Industry 4.0 transformation, featured gusts from the robotics, virtual reality, IIoT and cybersecurity fields, and explored the opportunities and challenges manufacturers face as they rethink, retool and rebuild the way they do business in the smart and connected world.
