Automation Alley's International Business Services team shares why attending the Hannover Messe industrial trade fair this spring in Germany could be a game changer for your company. Read how this massive and unique global event will help your company learn, grow, gain visibility and earn new business.

1) Venture Into Global Markets
Hannover Messe is unique. No other event brings together so many different nations. In 2017, there were more attendees, solutions and more international decision makers and companies than any other year. Out of 225,000 attendees, more than 30 percent were from abroad. In addition, 70 nations were represented, including Germany, China, India and Italy, all Michigan’s top trading partners. Not only will SMEs have access to hundreds of U.S. companies, they will have the opportunity to network with the leading nations implementing industry 4.0.

2) Overcome technological and sectorial boundaries
Michigan companies will have the chance to cross over to 27 different exhibiting halls to explore the latest advancements in digital technologies. Only Hannover Messe showcases industrial technology and energy-related solutions along the entire value chain. It ranks as the global meeting place for users and decision makers. Hannover Messe is the world’s leading Industry 4.0 show with focuses in smart robotics of the future. It's also the leading trade show for R&D and technology transfer, integrated processes and IT solutions, integrated energy systems and mobility, integrated automation, industrial IT, power transmission and control and light weight construction. In addition, in 2018, CeMat joined Hannover Messe for the first time ever. CeMat is the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management.

3) Identify and exploit the latest market trends
With access to thousands of business contacts and more than 1,500 conferences and seminars, Michigan companies will have access to key information about the latest global market trends.

"Hannover Messe offers us a key platform for meeting up with our customers from all around the world, and showing them the myriad options available in the digital age for boosting productivity, reducing maintenance costs, and cutting energy consumption," said Hans-Georg Krabbe, chairman of the managing board of ABB AG.

4) Learn about Cobots
Collaberative robots, or cobots, will be on full display at Hannover Messe. Don't miss this opportunity to see the machines transforming our factory floors. Their connectivity, artificial intelligence, innovative sensors and intuitive operation allow them to communicate directly with humans, as they learn autonomously and swap instructions with other cobots.

5) Mexico is the Hannover Messe 2018 Partner Country
Each year, Hannover Messe invites a different country to "host" the show. The 2018 host is Mexico, which poses great opportunities for Michigan companies. More than 200 companies are expected to exhibit from Mexico, Michigan’s second largest trading partner.

6) Innovation and Growth in Startups
More than 150 startup companies presented their business ideas at Hannover Messe 2017. This number is expected to increase in 2018, with many of them exhibiting for the first time.

7) Take advantage of the MEDC's Free Booth Space
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is partnering with Automation Alley's trade mission to Hannover Messe 2018 and sponsoring free booth space for Michigan SMEs in the Industry 4.0 sector interested in participating and exhibiting in the show. The cost of the trade mission is $3,000 for members and $4,000 for non-members and includes the following: a six-night hotel stay (including a daily breakfast buffet), entry to the show, train tickets for the week, two to three organized group dinners during the week, an opening ceremony ticket and kiosk space in the Michigan pavilion (sponsored by MEDC). In addition, MEDC's EU office will arrange for the group to attend many evening networking events at Hannover Messe.

8) Be in the Know about Industry 4.0
Industry 4.0 is no longer a future vision – it is a reality. Don't get left behind.
