Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development (MCPED) along with Oakland University and the Velocity Center will host an industry 4.0 workshop at the center on augmented reality and virtual reality.
The workshop will take place June 15 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The keynote speaker will be Khalid Mirza, Ph.D, a special instructor at Oakland University in the electrical and computer engineering department and director of the Chrysler Lab and Industrial Robotics Lab.
This workshop is designed to promote Industry 4.0 (I4.0), which is the ongoing automation of manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern smart technology. The concept helps manage and optimize all aspects of the manufacturing processes and supply chain. I4.0 provides access to real-time data and insights necessary to make smarter, faster decisions, which can ultimately boost the efficiency and profitability of an entire operation.
