With collaboration from business, education and government, GTM stands as a regional response to the challenges of the new global economy. Automation Alley's GTM immerses approximately 200 high school students at each venue in an authentic business experience that reflects the processes of companies engaged in global trade. Cross-district student teams respond to Entrepreneurial Global Challenges developed in collaboration with area companies while highlighting emerging industry sectors in Southeast Michigan. Since the program's inception, more than 2,000 students in Southeast Michigan have "gone global" with Automation Alley's Global Trade Mission.
By participating, organizations give our young professionals across Southeast Michigan the opportunity to broaden their global horizons. GTM allows students to develop workplace skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and cultural diversity awareness while gaining an understanding of their own role as a member of a universal community. They will have the opportunity to think, act and produce results that are required in today's international business world.
