The goal of Automation Alley's Annual Technology Report is to provide hard evidence of the tremendous strength and the technological vitality in Southeast Michigan. The report provides an overview of the region, including demographics, socioeconomics, and quality of life. Industry data is presented for 1998 through 2005 to illustrate how the industry has evolved in recent years.
There are analyses of six key industry clusters that exist within Automation Alley's technology economy:
-Advanced Automotive
-Advanced Manufacturing
-Chemical and Material
-Information Technology
-Life Sciences
-Other Technologies
Although these six clusters play a vital role in Automation Alley, there are other activities taking place in the region that promises future growth of the technology industry. This includes quantitative measures such as patent awards, university research and development, and qualitative assessments of items such as workforce development programs and industry promotion activity.
This report was compiled by Anderson Economic Group, LLC, a consulting firm with experience in economics, finance, market research and public policy.
