Automation Alley

As Southeast Michigan’s largest technology business association, Automation Alley is the voice of the technology economy at the local, state and federal levels. Automation Alley, through its ongoing advocacy and government relations work, represents more than 875 technology-driven members from across the region.

Automation Alley works with government officials and agencies, education representatives, economic development and business leaders in Michigan to represent the interests of Southeast Michigan’s technology industry. We emphasize the importance and impact of the technology industry in the region, including its ability to providing quality, high-paying jobs, income, and contribution to the quality of life in the region.

Through our Government Affairs Committee, Automation Alley is working to build awareness of and support for Automation Alley at the local, state and federal levels. Committee activities include securing opportunities for members to provide testimony before governmental committees, hosting legislative roundtables on important issues impacting Southeast Michigan’s technology business community, and connecting Alley members to the legislative community.

2007-08 Resolutions:
Supporting the completion of the Michigan Department of
  Transportation Detroit River International Crossing (DRIC) Study

- Supporting Lawrence Technological University’s 2007 Solar
  Decathlon student project

- Supporting Oakland County Economic Development Group
  Incentives Subcommittee’s final recommendations to the Michigan
  Economic Development Association Taskforce

- Supporting H.R. 2927, which responsibly balances achievable fuel
  economy increases with important economic and social concerns
  including consumer demand
