Rock Ventures President Matt Cullen to Discuss Detroit’s Rebirth on March 11

|Matt Cullen, president and chief operating officer of Rock Ventures LLC, will discuss the Quicken Loans family of companies’ unique culture, its efforts to spark development in downtown Detroit, and the unique marketing opportunities for these companies in a presentation titled “Detroit 2.0” at the Thursday, March 11 dinner meeting of the Marketing and Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED) in Troy.
A native Detroiter with extensive real estate and development expertise, Cullen is leading the efforts to relocate the Quicken Loans' headquarters downtown, while encouraging other new age economy and technology business development in Detroit. He is the founding chairman of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and chairman of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Executive Committee. Cullen also serves as volunteer chief executive officer of the M1-RAIL light rail line initiative, which will be the foundation of a regional transit system traveling along Woodward Avenue to connect Detroit’s leading educational, medical, cultural, sports and entertainment venues
Cullen is a 29-year veteran of General Motors (GM), where he was general manager of economic development and enterprise services and responsible for heading the company’s $500- million acquisition and development of the Renaissance Center as GM's global headquarters and the billion-dollar redevelopment of the Detroit Riverfront.
The evening event will be held at the Management Education Center at 811 W. Square Lake Rd. in Troy (between Crooks and Livernois Roads) and will begin with a networking reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and presentation at 7 p.m.
